Dave Beahm

 

Mr. David Beahm is a talented musician with a life time of musical experience. His interest began in grade school Guitar Instructor Dave Beahm with studies of the violin and drums, and later achieving honor orchestra on string bass in junior high school. As an adult, Mr. Beahm was a trombonist in the Marine Corps Field Band for 3 years.


Among these accomplishments, Mr. Beahm is also experienced in instructing children and adults of various ages. Mr. Beahm instills a passion for music in his students by establishing strong knowledge of the basics to help them grow into an accomplished musicians.

 

Dave also owns SunBeahm Guitars, LLC Guitar Instructor Dave Beahmspecializing in guitar repairs and building handcrafted stringed instruments.  Students of Northwest Valley Musical Arts will receive a 10% discount on all guitar set-ups and repairs.

Burton Munson

Burton Munson holds a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from Arizona State University where he studied with Professor Frank Koonce.  He also attended Glendale Community College where he studied with guitarists Chuck Hulihan, Bonnie Lou (Toigo) Olander, and saxophonist Dave Schmidt.  Burton was named 1st Place Soloist at the 2001 Maricopa Community College Outstanding Performers Competition, and received 1st place in the 2000 and 2003 Chamber Music Divisions as well.  While at GCC he played both guitar and baritone saxophone in the classical guitar orchestra, and the Jazz Big Band respectively.  He has performed in many master classes with such international artists as Nikita Koshkin, Adam Del Monte, and Mesut Ozgen.  Burton's interests include classical guitar repertoire; lute and vihuela music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods; 19th-century Romantic guitar music; 20th century works.In addition to his classical studies, Burton has developed great skill in all guitar styles. He was a worship team guitarist at the Community Church of Joy in Glendale from 2001-2005, and has been active in the community playing in numerous off-broadway revivals such as:  Rocket City, Godspell, and Footloose.  He was a founding member of the Phoenix City Ska Ambassadors, (a band who introduced and educated people on the musical style of ska, which has it's roots in Jamaican reggae).He especially enjoys teaching others how to not just play guitar & saxophone, but to have complete understanding of music theory as well, and hopes he can inspire all his students to be the great musicians of the future.
